About Leigh

Leigh Hope Wood has published numerous books for children, edited hundreds more, written and developed online content for artists and entrepreneurs, and managed a small publishing house in NYC.

Upon receiving her undergraduate degree in biology at Emory, having been in hot pursuit of a medical career for four long years, Leigh took a breather and labored madly in medical research for two years as she pondered her future and questioned her best intentions. Making a 180-degree turn, she migrated to New York City to take a bigger risk and follow her dreams—to write fiction and live in books. She landed her first job in publishing working on nonfiction books for young adults. Thus began her editorial career.

Born and raised in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Leigh now lives in Jackson Heights, NY. She is currently at work writing a novel, as well as fiction for kids, and freelancing. Where does she see herself in five years? Older and wiser, a better writer with a published novel, more travelled, a good cook with a lust for life, still working hard and playing hard.
