Online Identities
As the editorial director of a publishing house, I was enlisted to critique the ongoing development of the company's first website. While recognizing the importance of having an online presence, I found the process of constructing the site rather mysterious. How could I make creative suggestions without understanding the technical possibilities and design restraints? I eventually enrolled in a web-development boot camp, built a site to promote my freelance work, and started developing websites for other writers, artists, and entrepreneurs. My approach was to learn about a client's business or profession then create a representative online identity easy and pleasing to navigate.
