Welcome to Leighwood.

Hello, friends.  I’m Danice: east coast native, west coast resident, with an aspiration towards a bi-national lifestyle.  I'm a lawyer with a creative streak.  I love the arts, culture, fashion and travel.  I recently bought my first home, and for the first time realized the importance of creating spaces that nurture the soul, both physical spaces and emotional spaces.  My home has become that place for me, so much so that I had to give it a name...something vaguely British seemed appropriate (much like the names of the estates on the island my family is from, St. Kitts), and thus Leighwood was born.  The more I started transforming Leighwood into a space of sanctuary, the more I started creating sanctuary spaces and experiences in the rest of my life.  And so in that spirit, I've decided to name this entire site Leighwood, because sanctuary and the place of grace, beauty and authenticity isn't just fixed to one physical place; it's an estate of mind.  

The topics on this site cover a broad range of topics, but they all have one thing in common: they cover the way I live a life that I love, and hope to share with all of you.  Sharing my adventures (and misadventures!) in travel, style, beauty, culture, home & garden, and anything in between brings me joy, and I hope you enjoy these journeys of discovery as well.
